I am always amazed by the notion that the "Path of Change" [social or biological] is following along a course that one can prejudge as acceptable or unacceptable, as if there is a preordained 'right way'. All things are random within settings that do not violate the forces of matter & energy. There is no preconceived 'Right Outcome'.

We are Sentient Beings and each can make choices about behavior and values . Even so. the random dynamics of the Universe itself can make all those choices &
values mute in a wink of time. The number of close calls the survival of life has endured over the passage of geological time should convince us of the fact that we live in the Now.

We can make rational choices based on our ability to understand some of the objective reality of the "NOW". We must also understand that other Sentient Beings can and will make other choices that are in conflict with choices we make.

My posts are mainly written about choices that I  have made. They are often a call to action for others who have made similar choices. It carry's no authority outside of ourselves and our actions. It is the very essence of Free Will and the ability to influence the environment in which we live. I advocate for no absolutes. I advocate instead for a Human Community that values cooperative action as highly as it values competitive action.

The survival of any Human Community over time depends in large part on how broadly and how inclusive it is to the members that make up the Community. It depends on sufficient food, adequate shelter, effective medical care and life skills training for every citizen with no regard for his economic status.

This post illustrates the inclusiveness that I choose to honor. It is a promotion of exercising the imperatives of democratic action in a cooperative community. It has nothing to do with a natural curve of progress.  It is predicated on the principal making choices and adopting values.  The sustainment  of those values is effected by our individual & collective willingness to promote the establishment those values as the "conventional Wisdom" that motivated how we grow as a Community.

I am a Communitarian

I believe that Societies change over time. They evolve  to accommodate the  changing needs & desires of the individuals within the Society. Yet I am amazed by the false notion that the change is always moving toward a higher better purpose. Sometimes the conflict between those who have established interest & power and those who want to change to a system of community behavior to benefit their own needs will create behavior that is more destructive than beneficial. All change is random that does not violate physical Law. There is no preconceived Right Outcome.

We are Sentient Beings that can make choices about our behavior and the things we value. The random dynamics of the Universe itself can then make all those choices mute in a wink of time. The number of close calls the survival of life has endured over the passage of geological time should convince us of the fact that we live in the Now.

We can make rational choices based on our ability to understand some of the objective reality of our time. We must also understand that other sentient beings can and will make other choices that are in conflict with choices we make. This Blog is about choices that I have made. It is a call to action for others who have made similar choices.

It carry's no authority outside of myself and my actions. It is the very essence of Free Will It is about my ability to influence the environment in which we live. I advocate for no absolute right or wrong. I advocate only for a human Community that values cooperative action for the common good as highly as it values competitive action for the individual good.

The survival of any Human Community depends in part on how broadly and and how inclusive it is to the members that make it up. This Blog illustrates the degree of inclusiveness that I personally choose to honor.  I promote the exercising of democratic nonviolent action to create a cooperative community that uses both the efficiency of individual competition and the individual security of cooperative sharing . It has nothing to do with a natural progress of Good over evil. It is predicated only on the principal individual choice . I am by choice a Communitarian
.

Pax Village aspires to advance arts, culture, Science & Technology and social responsibility. We believe the Path to Progress lies in eliminating poverty.

This Photo represents both the Sunrise and the Sunset of my life. I am 73 years old and am free to be and say whatever I choose.

The Sunrise in my life is the chance to advance my commitment to create a society in which the life of every citizen can be lived without the FEAR of hunger, homelessness, untended illness and lack of opportunity to succeed in a life of accomplishment.

The sunset is the fact that I have fewer years ahead of me than the years I have left behind. My mother recently passed at 94, so there is a reasonable hope that my setting sun is yet sometime away. I am content with who I am and where the destination of my journey is meant to be. I invite you to walk with me and give advice and a helping hand when you can. Let us cherish the Moment

The Destruction of Poverty

Our Capitalist System uses money to distribute Goods & Service to consumers. It uses money to acquire Labor and productive capacity to produce Goods & Service. Money used by end point consumers is mostly acquired by wages from jobs. We are moving toward a technological automated economy that is rapidly reducing the use of Labor to earn wages that will sustain life.

If you distribute money to the primary Point of Sale
[the consumer] of the consumption of food, shelter, Medical care, and education, the money will flow into the economy and create maximum growth of the jobs that produce these Goods & Service. That can be done with a Basic Income administered by Social Security

If you use a Flat tax system to remove excess money from the economy to prevent inflation the system can be moderated at the fulcrum of supply & demand.  The Owners of Capital Infrastructure can continue to earn profits. The masses will  enjoy the Liberty to chose ones Life path that grows from the Freedom from Want that comes from sufficient food, adequate shelter, effective Medical care, and equal opportunity to learn Life skills.  We must become Communitarians and merge the Competition for Reward with the Cooperation of sustaining life "for the least of these".

Rights are born from the exercise of Power

If a Right can exist only by having the power to defend it, it is not a right that exist as an objective reality. It is a right conceived in the mind and agreed to by the holders of the greatest power. When the greatest power center [Sovereign Government] declines to protect the "Right" it becomes inoperable.

That which can be changed is by definition not an absolute unalienable right. It is rather a Right that the society aspired to, but decided that the former "Right" was actually detrimental to the best interest of the holders of power in the society.

In a democracy that would be the will of the majority of citizens . In a Oligarch or dictatorship that would be the will of a small interest group. In either case it remains a privilege granted by power holders as long as the interest of the power holders benefit from the granted privilege.. If you cannot defend a "Right" it is not unalienable.

Human Rights are cultural concepts of a Society. The do not exist as objective reality. If a Society adopts the concept of private ownership of property because they believe it will be used more efficiently in producing the needs of that Society, it will effectively be a Human Right supported and protected by that Society.

But no Society actually supports the concept of absolute ownership of property. It is tempered with the levying of property taxes to contribute to the Commonshare of all who are governed by the Society. It is also subject to the doctrine of Imminent Domain that allows the Society to reclaim the property for the Common Good of all Society.

Based on these two conditions the Right of Ownership is demonstrably a privilege and not an absolute individual human right. It is obvious that an individual cannot defend the possession of property against superior force unless he has the force of Society itself providing him cover. No individual can exist independent of the Community in which he lives. Everything he possesses exist because of the cooperative participation of the Labor of others. No one produces himself anything by himself. His right to private use of property is by definition a privilege granted by the whole Community.

Government and Capitalism Partnership

I have long been writing about the duel nature of motivation in human being that determine their actions. Men are both competitive and cooperative. Competitiveness tends to improve performance and cooperation tends to bring common goals to the Society.

Due to increase efficiency in innovation and automation in the process of producing goods & service. It is accelerating to the level of making labor a moot point in production of the essential necessities [food, shelter, medicine, and skill training] of securing life for all.

The argument against my passion for Government intervention in provideing the basics of life is that we have always been able to supply jobs by increasing the non-basic goods & services we produce for humans to consume. The problem with this argument is reflected in the stress we are putting on the resources and ecology of the earth upon which all life depends. We cannot continue to avoid the obligation to insure Freedom from Want by making the claim that Jobs from Junk will save Corporate Capitalism [not free markets] from the need to sacrifice for the security of a balanced society.
